Preparation of(Th,U)O2 Microspheres by Sol-gel Process

摘要: 采用溶胶凝胶法制备(Th,U)O2微球,研究不同Th含量的条件下,胶凝温度、洗涤和干燥过程对干煅球的影响。在不同的温度下对微球进行烧结,对得到的烧结球进行金相分析及扫描电镜(SEM)分析,研究不同Th含量及烧结温度对微球微观结构的影响。结果表明,溶胶凝胶法适合制备Th/(Th+U)不高于0.5的微球;在1200~1500℃烧结后可得到致密的(Th,U)O2微球,球的密度可达理论密度(T.D)99%。SEM结果表明,ThO2和UO2形成了均匀的固溶体,微球表面光滑,微球内部气孔细小且分布均匀。

Abstract: (Th,U)O2 microspheres were prepared by sol-gel process through hexamethylenetetramine(HMTA)-urea system.Gelling temperature,washing and calcination route were studied under different Th/(Th+U).Microspheres were sintered at different temperature and the microstructure were studied by met-alloscope(MS) and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results showed that the internal gelation method could be applied well in preparing(Th,U)O2 microspheres with the Th/(Th+U) ratio no higher than 0.5;compacted(Th,U)O2 microspheres were gained at sintering temperature between 1200℃and 1500℃,and the density could reach 99% of TD.The SEM results showed that ThO2 and UO2 had formed well-proportioned solid solution with pores tiny and homogeneous distribution.-
