Abstract:
In this study, the CFX code is used to simulate the mixing phenomenon of hydrogen in the Large-Scale Gas Mixing Facility(LSGMF). According to the experiment of hydrogen mixing conducted by AECL, a three-dimensional computational model of LSGMF is built and helium instead of hydrogen is injected into the facility. In order to adopt a suitable turbulence model, the standard
k-ε, Shear Stress Transport and BSL Reynolds Stress turbulence model are discussed. Compared with the experiment data, it is found that the distribution of helium concentration when adopting the standard
k-ε turbulence model is closest to the experiment results. In the end, through comparing the data of the helium distribution obtained by calculation with that obtained by experiment, it is found that the helium distribution is predicted well by the built computational model, which provides a good foundation for the further study of hydrogen mixing characteristics.
