Thermal Strain of Fuel Rods during Transient of Operation Transformation

  • The analytical model was created using the RELAP5 code,and the rate of coolant temperature alteration and thermal strain of fuel rods during the transient from forced circulation to natural circulation were calculated and analyzed.The results show that,RELAP5 code is a proper tool to analyze the thermal strain of fuel rods during the transient from force circulation to natural circulation;the dramatic changes of thermal strain have effects on the mechanical properties of fuel rods;and the thermal stress of fuel rods dur-ing other transient can also be analyzed using RELAP5 code.
