  • The paper gives a general introduction of formulation principles and main principal safety cri-teria of acceptance standards during in-service inspection of ASME XI.Model of circumferential and axial surface flaw in austenitic steel piping are explicated particularly.Allowable sizes of surface flaw with differ-ent aspect ratios of a/l in austenitic steel piping are deduced,and the calculation formula of allowable flaw sizes detected by nondestructive examinations during pre-service and in-service inspection considering UT inspection technical characteristics is presented.
