The theory and the state of art of 252Cf ionization chamber as well as its applications in nuclear physics parameter measurements are described, which includes time-of-flight measurement, the scintillation detector neutron efficiency determination, prompt neutron decay constant measurement and 252Cf-sourcedriven noise analysis measurement.
