Features and Innovatives of China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) Design

  • China Advanced Research Reactor(CARR)is a multipurpose and high performance research reactor.The design features,on adopting advanced technologies and design philosophies,layout of overall system and components,establishing the operation mode and applications of the reactor,have been sum up in this paper.These distinguishing features reflected the advanced merit,safety performance,economics and innovatives of CARR and the present level of research reactor design in China.The construction and operation of CARR will certainly make contributions to provide an important scientific research platform for the development of China Institute of Atomic Energy(CIAE).
