Quality Control of Mechanical Test on RPV Surveillance Specimens for Nuclear Power Plants

  • Irradiation surveillance tests of RPV materials for NPP include withdrawing and transportation of surveillance capsule, disassembly of capsule and cutting of dosimeter blocks, inspection of thermal monitors, impact and tension test, long-term storage and inspection of surveillance specimens, and etc. Quality control of surveillance tests is achieved by process quality control,and the key to quality control is not only perfect procedures, well trainning and process control, but also continueous improving.With good quality control, effective and reliable data have achieved on more than 700 irradiated samples from all 10 surveillance capsules, of which credibility is more than 95%.
